B-24D 41-11913 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' (Original) 343BS 98BG
Each star on the wand depicts two missions completed.
Delivered to MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida, where the nose-art was painted. Left the USA in July 1942 and flew to SA, Gold Coast, Egypt and based near Haifi. First mission was on the 14 August 1942. 1 May 1943 it flew into another aircraft whilst flying through heavy cloud. All of the crew returned to the USA in June 1943.

Started combat 13 May 1943 and was shot down near the Yugoslavia/ Bulgaria border by enemy fighters on the low level Ploesti mission 1 August 1943. Pilot Lt. James A. Gunn III
