Scale Hobbyist Sales and Return Policy

NORTH AMERICAN SALES ONLY
Scale Hobbyist sells and ships products within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, the US Territories and Canada. We also make shipments to APO or FPO addresses. You may not export any products purchased at Scale Hobbyist.

SALES TO END USERS ONLY
Scale Hobbyist sells and ships products to end user customers only.

SHIPPING RATES
Continental US shipping prices are calculated from the order total. Hawaii, Alaska, US Territories and Canadian shipping prices are calculated based on order weight. Pricing is normally as follows:

RETURN & REFUND POLICY
If you are not satisfied with your Scale Hobbyist purchase of a product, please visit www.scalehobbyist.com/account/return.php for a Return Material Authorization (RMA) request within 45 calendar days of the receipt of the product. If the item is returned unopened in the original box, we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. The product must be returned to the Scale Hobbyist warehouse within 14 calendar days of the issuance of the RMA. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product. A 5% open box fee will be assessed on any opened product, with the sole exception of incomplete products being returned for exchange ONLY. Shipping costs will be refunded only if the return is due to an error on the part of Scale Hobbyist.

Please note that Scale Hobbyist does not permit the return of or offer refunds for the following products:

  • Partially constructed kits
  • Liquid products such as paint, thinners or cement
  • Items purchased from retailers other than Scale Hobbyist
NOTE: Scale Hobbyist recommends that you (1) use a carrier that offers shipment tracking for all returns and (2) either insure your package for safe return to Scale Hobbyist or declare the full value of the shipment so that you are completely protected if the shipment is lost or damaged in transit. If you choose not to (1) use a carrier that offers tracking and (2) insure or declare the full value of the product, you will be responsible for any loss or damage to the product during shipping. Scale Hobbyist is not responsible for shipping costs.

Incomplete product or manufacturing defects
A product is considered incomplete if it is missing any part or printed documentation such as a manual or instructions. A product is considered defective if it contains parts or printed materials which are deformed or partially missing. Disconnected parts from a sprue tree does not normally constitute a manufacturing defect. If you believe that you have received an incomplete or defective product you may contact us at . We will take the product back for exchange or refund, subject to a 5% restocking fee in accordance with the guidelines for general returns above. However, we strongly recommend that you contact the product manufacturer for resolution. They will generally replace the item without cost to you.

Items sold by Scale Hobbyist may occasionally exhibit packaging defects that do not impact the intended purpose or use of the product. Scale Hobbyist does not represent in any manner that items are in perfect condition with no minor defects. A product with cosmetic box damage is not considered to be defective unless the contents have been damaged.

Incorrect or incomplete shipments
If a product was shipped to you that you did not order, if the wrong product was shipped to you, or if you feel that your order is incomplete in any way, please file an incorrect order complaint at our report page. If it is determined that we are at fault, upon return of the incorrect products (if any) at the Scale Hobbyist warehouse you will be issued a full refund including all shipping costs incurred.

PROOF OF PURCHASE
Scale Hobbyist will send you a confirmation of your order via email if you have included a valid email address with your order. If you have not included a valid email address, you will receive a confirmation of your order with your order when it is shipped.

PAYMENT METHODS
Credit Card
At the time your order is placed, Scale Hobbyist bills your credit card for the appropriate amount. In the event of a canceled order, your credit card is refunded immediately upon order cancelation. Scale Hobbyist accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards.

  • We are unable to accept credit cards issued by banks outside of the United States and Canada.
  • Debit cards and check cards have daily spending limits that may delay the processing of your order.
PayPal
We accept all methods of payment supported by PayPal.

Check or Money Order
If you wish to tend a payment by check or money order, please contact us first at for instructions.

Credit Card Security Codes
Scale Hobbyist requires the credit card security code for your card for any online purchase. The credit card security code is an individual three- or four-digit number specific to your credit card that may be printed on the face of your card above the embossed account number (if American Express), or on the back of your card, on the signature panel (if Visa, MasterCard or Discover). Asking for and confirming your credit card's security code helps validate that you - and only you - are in the possession of your credit card and protects you from unauthorized use of your account.

Multiple Payment Tenders
Scale Hobbyist does not accept multiple payment tenders.

SALES TAX
Scale Hobbyist is a New Hampshire business, and does not charge sales tax.

SHIPPING OPTIONS
Scale Hobbyist ships via UPS or USPS.

Undeliverable Packages
Occasionally packages are returned to us as undeliverable. When the carrier returns an undeliverable package to us, please contact us to make arrangements for reshipment.

Failed Delivery Attempts
Most of our carriers make three attempts to deliver a package. After three delivery attempts, the package will be returned to us.

ORDER PROCESSING
The estimated shipment date on your order is based on product availability, payment processing time, and warehouse processing time and does not include transit time. Payment processing will not begin until we receive all the information we need and full payment or a full authorization, in the case of credit card orders.

Orders placed on the weekend or on a holiday will begin payment processing the next business day. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

PRICES
Scale Hobbyist endeavors to offer you competitive prices on current Scale Hobbyist products and selected Sale products. Your total order price will include the price of the product (on the day the order is placed) plus any applicable sales tax and shipping charges. Scale Hobbyist reserves the right to change prices for products displayed at Scale Hobbyist at any time.

Should Scale Hobbyist reduce its price on any shipped product within 10 calendar days of shipment, you may contact Scale Hobbyist Customer Support at to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact Scale Hobbyist within 14 business days of shipment.

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
Order lead time is the length of time it will take us to validate your credit card, assemble the right products and package your order. Shipping time is the length of time it will take for the package to travel from our warehouse to your shipping address.

Scale Hobbyist makes every effort to ship your product according to the estimated lead times provided by Scale Hobbyist at checkout. The estimated lead times are in business days (Monday through Friday) excluding Federal Reserve holidays. Lead times will begin the following business day for orders placed and credit cleared after 2 p.m. EST. Lead times quoted on the checkout page are for orders that are partially shipped - meaning items ship as soon as they are available. If you have requested a complete shipment, please add 3-4 additional days for transportation and order consolidation processing.

Although every effort is made to ship your order according to the lead time provided, shipping dates may change due to changes in supply. If the lead time changes, Scale Hobbyist will contact you via email and provide a revised shipping estimate.

Given the popularity of some products, Scale Hobbyist may restrict the number of such items that you may purchase. Any product limit restrictions will be posted on the Scale Hobbyist web site. This information is subject to change.

At times, orders may be placed for product beyond what we have in stock due to errors in inventory. In that eventuality we will contact you directly for information on how you wish to continue. You will always be given the opportunity to cancel your order.

Scale Hobbyist reserves the right to discontinue products without notice.

In Stock Items
Items marked "In Stock" are available in house and will generally ship with a lead time of 1-3 business days.

"Available" Items
Items marked "Available" are not in stock, but our suppliers report that the item is available from them. It generally takes 1-2 business days to bring the product in from our suppliers, for a total lead time of about 2-4 business days. We have about a 98% fill rate on "Available" items, but if the item turns out not to be available we will inform you immediately.

PRODUCT WARRANTY
All products offered in the Scale Hobbyist store are sold "AS IS" by Scale Hobbyist, but may be accompanied by their manufacturers' standard warranties. "AS IS" products are sold by Scale Hobbyist as is, where is, and with all faults, and without express or implied warranties from Scale Hobbyist. If you have questions about any manufacturers' warranties that accompany such products, please contact the manufacturer directly.

Products sold through this Web site are serviced and supported exclusively by their manufacturers in accordance with any terms and conditions packaged with the products. Please contact the manufacturer directly for technical support and customer service.

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Scale Hobbyist is not responsible for typographical errors, including incorrect pricing information.
  • Scale Hobbyist reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of sale at Scale Hobbyist at any time.
  • All sales at Scale Hobbyist are governed by New Hampshire law, without giving effect to its conflict of law provisions.
  • No Scale Hobbyist employee or agent has the authority to vary any of Scale Hobbyist's policies or the terms and conditions governing any sale.
