This model kit requires assembly. Cement, paint and other construction materials not included unless specifically stated in the description.

The Jagdpanther was a result of the German Army's specification for a more powerful tank hunter than those serving in Russia at the time. One of Germany's best tank destroyers, its purpose was clear: destroy enemy tanks. The German masterpiece first saw action at the Battle of Normady. Many more Jagdpanthers were scheduled to be produced, but much fewer were produced as a result of Allied bomber raids, which caused much destruction and disruption at two production centers.

Jagdpanther was loaded with a single 7.92mm MG34 or MG42 machine gun and a long-barreled 88mm L7/1 gun, capable of destroying enemy tanks at ranges of up to 3000 meters. Early Jagdpanthers were equipped with a one piece 88mm gun while later versions' guns consisted of two parts. The early and mid production Jagdpanthers had a small flush mounted mantlet, while late production models had a larger bolted design. Early models were mounted with two vision slots for the driver, one of which was eliminated in later versions. Other periscopes were mounted on the roof of the superstructure and were used by the commander and gun loader. The vehicle's profile had very clean lines and well-sloped armor plates, making it virtually invulnerable frontally to almost all anti-tank guns.

MRC/Academy's newly tooled Jagdpanther is one monster of a kit. This static 1/25th scale tank's hull measures nearly 11 inches. This kit is so large it actually takes 2 joined tracks to cover the wheels, and so precise it takes 10 sprues to fit all the parts. It's armed with the 88mm gun. The kit features movable torsion bars and realistic wheels. Metal parts are included. Comes with clear instructions and decal schemes from tanks used in Germany, France, and Hungary.
