One of the Greatest Fighters of WWII, the P-51 Mustang earned its reputation as one of the greatest fighters of the Second World War, and perhaps of all time. This single seat fighter plane excelled with its deadly weaponry, high speed, and long-range maneuverability making it unparalleled as an escort fighter, interceptor, and ground attacker. More "D" models of this aircraft were built than any other variant, with a total of 9,603.
In 1947 the U.S. Air Force (USAF) was separated from the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) and all USAF airplanes were given the new "F-" designation. The F-51D played an active part throughout the entire Korean War. This 1/72 kit measures 5" in length with a 6.25" wingspan, and comes with authentic American and Korean decals. It has a highly detailed cockpit and landing gear, as well as fully engraved panel lines and rivet details. We've also added a WWII light utility vehicle set useful for dioramas.
