The OV-10D was the most notable version of the"Bronco", aside of the initial OV-10A (ACADEMY item no. 1665). The A was successfully flown in Vietnam in the late sixties. The D version featured sensor equipment in its nose consisting of infrared systems, laser targeting capabilities plus 20mm cannon upgrades and stronger powerplants. A number of 18 aircraft were converted between 1979-1980. USMC OV-10D were in action during Desert Storm in 1991, mainly for surveillance at night. 1995 came the official retirement for the Bronco in the american forces, but US civil authorities and many countries still use this versatile and reliable plane. West Germany used the B-Version, Thailand(C-Version), Venezuela(E), and Indonesia(F) were Further customers of the manufacturer, North-American/Rockwell.
