The BAZ-6403 prime mover is a member of BAZ Voschina-1 family of heavy military vehicles. The BAZ-6909 is the baseline model. There is a high commonality of components and parts between various vehicles of this family.
The BAZ-6403 has good cross-country mobility. It can operate across rough terrain and in remote areas. Main role of this prime mover is to tow semi-trailers with main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery units and other heavy equipment. Vehicle can carry loads with a maximum weight of 52 t. Gross combination weight is 90 t. It can also tow semi-trailers with fuel tanks and air defense radars and other special equipment.
