I-5 - the first fighter of N.N. Polikarpov design which was produced in large series and became the basic in Red Army Air Force in the beginning of 30th. The first prototype VT-11 has made his maiden flight in April 29th, 1930. I-5 fighters participated in the air battles of the initial period of the WW2. In total in 1931-1934 were produced 800 I-5 fighters.
