History Background
For Nazi Germany and soviet Russia, the war in the East had reached a point of stasis. Both were driven by the realization that the result of the inevitable clash of arms between the Wehrmacht and the Red Army, in the summer of 1943, would be decisive in determining the outcome of the war on the Eastern Front. It would also contribute, in a profound manner, to the resolution of the wider conflict between the Axis and Allied powers in Europe.

Kursk was the greatest tank battle of World War Two and the decisive last major German offensive in the east. After Kursk, the initiative lay wholly with the USSR, beginning a series of Soviet offensives that would end in the ruins of Berlin.

Model Feature
This kit depicts panzer crewmen who have abandoned their knocked-out panzer and are desperately fighting their way back to safety. All four figures wear the black panzer uniform, fighting with weapons at hand such as MP40, P.38 pistol, stick grenade and also a Soviet PPSh41 sub-machine gun picked up off battlefield.
