In the late 1960s, the burgeoning American custom motorcycle scene included "trikes," wild three-wheeled choppers inspired by the classic Harley-Davidson Servi-Car, often used by police departments for parking enforcement.For Evil Iron, the Los Angeles-based designers at Revell started with a chrome-plated 650cc twin-cylinder engine and reworked a rigid frame to build the finely detailed chassis of this outlandish tricycle. Up front, a skinny tire is mounted on a 21-inch spoked wheel, while out back is a pair of inverted five-spoke wheels with super-wide low-profile tires. Evil Iron's tongue-in-cheek theme begins with a smiling skull on the sculpted high-back bucket seat, which is covered with a mantle that blends downward into the trike's body.Other details include a double-edged sword and taillights in the shape of a club with rivets.

After Revell launched the 1/8th Evil Iron kit in 1971, it soon became the most popular fantasy trike among modelers. Now, for the first time in decades, Evil Iron is back, ready for old friends and today's new generation of dreamers.
