The British Supermarine Spitfire was facing several challenges by mid-1942. The debut of the formidable Focke-Wulf Fw 190 in late 1941 had caused problems for RAF fighter squadrons flying the latest Spitfire Mk Vb.
Kit has engraved panel lines, detailed cockpit and fuselage area, optional open/closed canopy and door, semi-elliptical or clipped wingtips, separate ailerons, 2-piece engine cover, single piece propeller with separate spinner, detailed wheel wells and optional undercarriage, wing machine guns, centerline drop tank and rockets (x2).
