This model kit requires assembly. Cement, paint and other construction materials not included unless specifically stated in the description.

When the first XP-38 took wing in 1939, the Army Air Corps instantly recognized that the Lightning had catapulted fighter aircraft design will into the future. At a time when 325 mph was considered very fast for a fighter, the over 400 mph speed of the P-38 was a shock to all concerned, friend or foe. In the early days of World War II, the Lightning went through a series of teething problems. Once they were all solved, later versions of the were capable of truly long-range escort capabilities and/or heavy weapon loads.

MRC/Academy is excited to release their 100% newly tooled P-38J Lightning. Even in 1/72nd scale this plane is impressive in size, with a wingspan of 8.5". It's loaded with two 1000 lb bombs and 2 4.5" rockets . Fully engraved panel lines and rivet details. Highly detailed cockpit and landing gear. Comes with decals from late WW2 in the Pacific Theater.
