Initial production variant of the Kriegsmarine's long-range Type IX submarines. Kit features 2-piece full hull, detailed exterior hull and deck surfaces, conning tower with wintergarten, deck guns, optional injection-molded main deck railings and photo-etch parts (railings, anchor, antennae masts, bow cable cutter, conning tower deck grating, DF loop and display stand with nameplates). Completed model is approximately 8.6" long. Includes color painting guide for a typical boat and decals for ensigns.
