This book contains these articles:

1) Austrian Panzergrenadier & Jagdkommando Elite
"Schutz '04" took place in the wake of the March 2004 Madrid bombings. It was the largest Austrian exercise of that year, and was conducted in southern Austria with no less than 12,300 soldiers, 209 armored vehicles, 2,760 motor vehicles, and 30 helicopters! Naturally the scale of the exercise led to a great many photo opportunities, and this article has captured Leopard 2A4s, 6x6 Pandurs and new Ulans as they were put through their paces, along with a whole host of other vehicles currently in service with the Austrian Bundesheer. The exercise scenario was that of a counter-terrorism mission. There are lots of action shots of Austrian vehicles and elite units like the Jagdkommandos to create a fascinating record of "Schutz '04".

2) 1st (UK) Armoured Division CPX "Rhino Charge"
Exercise "Rhino Charge" took place in September 2004, an FTX for the 1st (UK) Armoured Division. The exercise took place in Germany, and featured a number of headquarters, logistics and signals units. The fact that the tableau was on private land and not on a training range allows the author to photograph a number of British tracked and wheeled vehicles in varied rural settings. Some of the vehicles featured are Saxons, MAN tank transporters, FV430 series vehicles, Bedford trucks, Foden and Leyland DROPS, Fox NBC vehicles and various specialist Warrior versions. This variety makes for an interesting feature on modern British military vehicles.

3) French 6th Light Armored Brigade
After the end of the Cold War, the French Army embarked upon a major transformation of its forces. One of the eight new brigades that were formed was the 6eme BLB ("Brigade Legere Blindee" - Light Armored Brigade). This article examines this brigade as they participated in "Exercise Anvil" in 2004. The writer has included a number of fascinating photos of a river crossing of the Rhone with motorized floating bridges, as well as an amphibious landing on the French coast. There are pictures of such combat vehicles as Panhard VBLs, AMX-10RCs, VABs, as well as Mistral light SAMs and the Eryx anti-tank missile.

4) 1/35 scale profile of M1126 Stryker
