Based out of Leuchars, Scotland for its final 40 years, the R.A.F.'s No. 111 Squadron first formed as a desert recon squadron in late WWI. The Panavia Tornado ADV F.3 was the squadron's fighter of choice from 1990-2011. In 2007, the No. 111 Squadron celebrated its 90th anniversary, decorating their Tornado ADV F.3s with a special paint scheme in honor of the occasion.
