The British Supermarine Spitfire was facing several challenges by mid-1942, the Mk XVI was the same as the Mk IX in nearly all respects except for the engine, a Merlin 266.
Kit has engraved panel lines, detailed cockpit and fuselage interior, bubble top or high back canopy, optional open/closed canopy and door, semi-elliptical or clipped wingtips, separate trailing edge flaps, single piece propeller with separate spinner, detailed wheel wells and optional undercarriage, wing machine guns, die-cut canopy mask, photoetch (instrument panel, consoles, seatbelts, fuselage and other interior, undercarriage, canopy, door and other exterior).
