The General Atomics Predator is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) used primarily by the USAF and CIA. Conceived in the early 1990s for reconnaissance and forward observation roles, the Predator carries cameras and other sensors but has been modified and upgraded to carry and fire two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles or other munitions. It's currently used for special missions around the world. Launched and controlled by satellite link from Command Posts hundreds and thousands of miles away, the multi-purpose Predator is used for reconnaissance as well as precision weapons delivery.
The RQ-1A was the pre-production designation for the entire Predator series, and this was the first multi-purpose practical UAV for the USAF. The 1/72 scale kit is easy to assemble, yet extremely detailed due to the engineering quality and precision of the extensive, Cartograf decal sheet.
