This model kit requires assembly. Cement, paint and other construction materials not included unless specifically stated in the description.

Important: RS Models are limited run kits with basic details and are for intermediate to advanced modelers only. They will require extra work to build successfully including scratch-building and modification of parts.

Officially known as the Ryan NYP (for New York to Paris), the single engine monoplane was designed by Donald A. Hall of Ryan Airlines and was named The Spirit of St. Louis in honor of Lindbergh's supporters from The St. Louis Raquette Club in his then hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Hall documented his design in "Engineering Data on the Spirit of St. Louis" which he prepared for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) and is included as an appendix to Lindbergh's 1953 Pulitzer Prize winning book, The Spirit of St. Louis. Kit has fine engraved panel lines, appropriate fabric-over-frame effects, fully represented cockpit, detailed engine, injection-molded transparent parts, resin parts, photo-etch parts, and acetate film instruments.

Decals and painting guide for 4 aircraft: Sprit of St Louis Charles A Lindberg (x2) first solo crossing Atlantic Ocean May 20 1927 and Latin American Goodwill Tour 1928; NYP-2 Mainichi Shinbun Japanese Newspaper (x2) 1927 and 1928.
