From landing site to launch pad in the blink of an eye.
Since the first test flight of the Enterprise in 1977, NASA has used Boeing 747s to transport Space Shuttle Orbiters on Earth. 747s take the orbiter from the landing site to the launch pad, as well as transport it for test flights. Gantry-like Mate-Demate Devices make it easy to hoist the orbiter onto the ground once the 747 has landed. Currently, NASA has two 747s in its fleet for transporting the Space Shuttle Orbiter. One's a 747-100 for long-range use. The other's a short-range 747-100SR.
This limited edition combo includes two complete kits. Set comes with assorted parts that were not featured on the original release, including a stabilizer, joint prop, pitot tube and nozzle cover.
