About the captured T-34/76:
Urgent series production of the T-34 began in July 1940, and after the German invasion of Russia, production was accelerated even further. This resulted in a lot of defects and mechanical problems. Nevertheless, the 26-ton T-34/76 was a revolutionary and advanced tank design. In fact it was so successful that the German forces at times put captured T-34s into their own national service. When pressed into German service, the tanks received a number of modifications to make them more operable. This included such things as a new cupola, Notek light, new storage boxes and the installation of a radio.
