This model kit requires assembly. Cement, paint and other construction materials not included unless specifically stated in the description.

Its predecessor, designated C-97A, set new standards in military aviation transportation history with its ability to carry a havy cargo at top speeds. Boeing took the basic design of its C-97 transport and developed a refuelling tanker, KC-97 series.

Constructed in 1951 the KC-97E incorporated the flight-refuelling boom or "Flying Boom" that was updated during the development of the KC-97A. It also included supplementary fuel tanks, which were attached to the cargo floor. Sixty of the KC-97E were produced as tankers.

Later one hundred fifty nine KC-97F's were equipped four R-4360-59B engines that were rated the at 3,500HP. The KC-97F had additional advances in its instruments and was designed as a tanker/transport. Reaching complete transport capabilities in the KC-97F required the removal of all the flight refuelling apparatus.

The KC-97G model is the most recognized aircraft in this series. Known as the Stratofreighter, total of 592 were built at an average cost of $1,205,000 each. The KC-97G was a true tanker/transport that didn't need any equipment changes when it was used as a full transport. Powered by the Pratt and Whitney R-4360-59B radial piston engines, the KC-97G had a maximum speed of 375 mph and a range of 4,300miles. The thirty years of service of the KC-97G exemplifies the quality of this aircraft.
