THe SPAD XIII C.1 was an improved development of the earlier and successful SPAD VII. The SPAD was developed by Societe Pour L'Aviation et ses Derives. It was a fast and very strong aircraft with an excellent gun platform. Over 8472 were produced during WWI and it served with more than 16 nations long after the Great War. Most great allied aces in France, the United States and Italy flew the SPAD XIII.
